Introduction:
Natural Tech is an innovative glazing technology applied during the manufacturing process. It creates a remarkably smooth yet slip-resistant R11 surface when wet, making it easy to use the same tile for both indoor and outdoor areas.
Traditionally, selecting tiles for different areas like indoor, outdoor, and wet spaces required finding tiles with the same design but different finishes. With Natural Tech, you only need one type of tile, ensuring seamless consistency throughout your space—ideal for Australia’s open-plan living style.
What is Natural Tech?
Unlike conventional slip-resistance technologies that use randomly applied abrasives to create a rough surface, Natural Tech features a fine, uniform coating of microscopic granules. This coating is applied during manufacturing to form a smooth, grippy finish that lasts the lifetime of the tile.

Post Installation:
We recommend a post-installation deep clean of all tiled products, especially with the Natural Tech finish. The smoothness of the surface may convince you that this tile will always be easy to clean; however, if grout haze and building debris are not removed post-installation, issues with marking can arise later.
Follow these steps to keep your Natural Tech textured tiles looking good as new:
- 24 hours after the grout has dried, wash tiles with Lithofin Cement and Residue Remover.
- Dilute up to 1:1 with water.
- Let the cleaner dwell for approximately 15 minutes.
- Scrub the surface with a white scour pad or stiff bristle brush (do not let the water dry on the surface of the tile; otherwise, the residue will simply rest back on the tile surface).
- Mop up residue and wash with Lithofin Vitra Clean as a final step.
Important Note:
Grout additives or boosters should be avoided with Natural Tech or textured tiles. If they have been used, clean the tiles with Lithofin Wax Off before the initial grout haze clean.
Ongoing Cleaning:
For everyday cleaning, we recommend Lithofin Vitra Clean or any cleaner you prefer. With the Natural Tech finish, you should experience no issues. However, every six months or so, we recommend a clean using Lithofin KF Intensive Cleaner.
- Dilute Lithofin KF Intensive Cleaner up to 1:10 with cold or lukewarm water and distribute evenly on the surface with a brush or scrubber.
- Allow the product to work for 10 to 20 minutes, brushing occasionally and not allowing the product to dry.
- Remove from the surface with a cloth or with a wet and dry vac and rinse the surface with clear water.
